Jun 20, 01:44 AM: Veg Fest 2011

We have the house we rented last fall in Panama City Beach, FL reserved again for this year. The house is reserved for Friday September 30th to Friday October 7th. We have to be out by 10am on the 7th.

I’m hoping since I don’t have the resources to travel very much that my friends will be able to join me at the beach each year so I can spend time with my “adopted/extended” family.

Renting the house for a full week gets us a great rate so depending how many of us go the cost will be between $20 and $40 per person per night. Judson, Bob, and I will definitely be there the whole week.

If you want to join us for part or all of the week just get in touch with me.

May 3, 11:38 AM: It's a girl!

I just got a text from Jason, He and Yaz are having a baby girl. The little girl in this video always reminder me of Yaz so I predict this is how baby “Jazz Hands” will turn out.

Aug 29, 07:02 PM: Good Luck AJ!

Today we wish AJ & Mark congratulations and best wishes on their wedding day. To them I also say thank you so much for the lovely invitation, I’m sorry I was unable to attend. And by unable I mean unwilling! [LOL] The idea that single guys like to go to weddings to meet single women is a myth perpetuated by Hollywood. Without a date there was no chance of me showing for this sort of event.

Now I fully believe in the importance of supporting your friends and family but weddings are in a category all by themselves. While there are circumstances where I might actually attend a wedding, they are few and far between. I can only think of 3 weddings in the last decade or so that I have actually attended.

While living in Charlotte, NC Judson and I went up to Long Island for a co-worker’s wedding. To be honest I only went for the trip and was not looking forward to the wedding itself at all but it turned out I did know a bunch of people there and it was a crazy party after.

Next I think was my Aunt Pam’s wedding in the back woods of Alabama. My Mum flew to Atlanta and we drove the rest of the way so there was no getting out of that one, plus I wound up doing about half the catering.

The Only other wedding I’ve attended was Tim & Karen’s in which i was best man.

AJ and I have been very close friends for and very very long time so naturaly you’d think I would be there on such an important event. Even though we are close I’m not really friends with any of her friends or family. That along with not having someone to go with and the fact that I don’t drink anymore is more than enough reason to skip this one. Further still it’s my opinion that on their wedding day brides are so besieged by admirers they have no clue as to who is actually in attendance and who isn’t. So if she asks I was there and she just missed me!

Aug 28, 12:32 AM: New Home

Every time I move into a new place people ask me for pictures but I never actually take any. Well this time I did but that came out very poorly. Once everything is finally put away I’ll retake these pictures so think of this as more of a placeholder post.

Above is my new office. This is a 2 bedroom apartment and I have set the computer up in the larger of the two. For me it’s much more useful to have the room for my books and other stuff rather than have the extra bedroom space.

This is the little bedroom, it’s pretty small but it’s working out fine. Yes the beds not made and it’s still not made.

This is one of the smallest kitchens I’ve ever had but it’s laid out so well it’s a very good work space. It’s the shelf at the back that makes it work.

This is the reverse angle looking from the kitchen all the way to the back window in the bathroom.

Aug 3, 11:58 AM: Move Complete!

Moving on Saturday was a complete success! I’m now in my new place and I’m very happy with it, I’ll take some pictures later and post them. If you are doing any sort of moving in central PA I highly recommend Keystone Relocation. They sent out Mike and Roman to move me and they did an excellent job. They arrived at 9am and stayed in constant motion until they finished at 1pm. They worked professionally and cleanly. In the new place the bedrooms are back a very narrow hallway but they managed to get everything moved into the room without scuffing the walls. Keystone which is an agent for Allied Van Lines, provided a great service for an excellent price, I could not be happier with the job they did.

I also want to thank my Mom and Bob who helped me thru every step of the process. My back gave out shortly after the movers showed up so without everyone’s help I would not have come close to getting this job done.

Update: That is not my house. In the picture, that is not my house. I didn’t think to take any actual photos of the moving process so I had to grab some “clip art” from the web. Sorry if that confused anyone.

Jan 4, 03:23 AM: They're Here!

So I’m moving forward with my ideas for a t-shirt company. I ordered some promotional buttons to advertise the shirts and keep me motivated. They just came in and they are freaking beautiful!

I actually have the quotes for the shirts themselves i just need to clean up the art and order them. I’m starting small and I’m going to sell the first batch on ebay and go from there.

I got the buttons form MOD BUTTONS DOT COM Very nice very helpful people, i highly recommend them.

Sep 26, 09:55 PM: Show ending (Q'Lube/SSRR)

Tonight is the last night for Sex, Sports, & Rock-n-Roll trivia at Quaker Stake & Lube. The regular show on Sundays at 8pm is sill on but after tonight there will be no Friday shows anymore. Its really too bad to since the G-Man doesn’t do trivia on home game weekends there will be no trivia on those Fridays at all now.

I’ll have to find a new show so stay tuned to this page or the Team Trivia PA blog for future announcements.

Jun 19, 05:18 PM: 6 days a week

You can now catch me 6 days a week hosting Team Trivia games!

Note that the shows are at different time each evening. Two are a little early 7pm, two are at the traditional time 8pm, and two are “late night” 10pm. If you can’t make it to one of these shows then you just don’t like trivia.

On July 10th I’ll open our first Bloomsburg PA show at Harry’s Grille. I’ll host this Thursday night at 8:00pm show myself for the first few weeks, just until we can hire and train a host for that area. I’m hoping to have 3-4 shows in that area by this fall so it would make a great part-time job for someone who lived up there. Let me know if you know anyone.

I’m also looking for a venue to host non-smoking Team Trivia. All of our current State College locations are great places to play Team Trivia and the only negative I ever hear is there are a few folks that would like a non-smoking venue. It will be a little tough to fit another show into our schedule but I think the right location would do very well advertised as ‘no smoking’. If you think of a good place let me know.
