This is great! Wizards that now make ‘Dungeons & Dragons’ invited some web-comic guys in to play the 4th edition D&D game. It’s the writer and artist from Penny Arcaded and Scott Kurtz the creator of PvP. for their second session not only did they record it and break it up for a pod cast but the guys invite Wil Wheaton of Star Trek Infamy to join them.
Language warning! There is a bunch of cursing here but it’s all in good fun.

I’ve only listened to the first part so far but it’s pretty good from a gamer geek stand point. The old D&D books always had a sample play section where they would script out what the Dungeon Master and players say and do through and encounter. That was always my favorite part to read and this is very similar.

Oop! OK, so the links above are the first session (no Wil Wheaton). Below is the second session which I think only part one is out so far. This is the one I listened to; it’s about a half hour long. I’ll probably post updates after to or 3 new episodes get posted.

Here is a Three Panel Soul comic that tickles me every time I read it. It’s actually a 3 part story that I have collected for you in one block. I think it works a little better with the pauses at the end of each line, 3PS updates weekly so it took most of a month for me to read the full strip, but I think its fine as a group too. In a story arc that started the day Evil Atom was forced out of the company he single-handedly created , the new CEO of Evil Inc — a superHERO — has had to grapple with making the company profitable.
Failure would cause the demise of the Legion of Justice — which invested heavily in Evil Inc ().
But success would, of course, mean aiding and abetting super-criminals.
Last week ended with a mysterious explosion and this week began with an equally mysterious memorial service. The next nine days are not to be missed.

In an effort to celebrate the biggest Civilization expansion ever (Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword), Firaxis has challenged the gaming community to create fanart/comics set in the Civ world. Additional information about the contest can be found here: Civilization Daydreams Contest.
As part of the Daydreams promotion 2K has convinced quite a few professional webcomics to offer their take on the game. We here at GU comics will be debuting new custom Civ IV comics July 26th, August 2nd, and August 9th. Other participaing webcomics include 8-Bit Theater, Control-Alt-Delete, Dueling Analogs, MyExtraLife and PvPOnline. Animated shorts from the creative team behind Over the Hedge will be included as well. You’ll be able to find the various contributions on the creators’ websites and at www.apolyton.net, www.civfanatics.com and planetcivilization.gamespy.com.
The Civilization Daydreams site (linked above) will be updated weekly with the various Daydreams comics and animated shorts. Check back here on 7/26, 8/2, and 8/3 for our three page comic short.

Get Fuzzy is one of my all time favorite newspaper strips. Click on the image to go to the strip for July 2nd and then read the rest of that week. Its kind of a long setup, the real punch to the gag is on the 6th, but it cracked me up pretty good.
