Today is my friend Judson’s birthday. Judson has a very ominous birth date, June 6th, 1966 or 6-6-66 as he is always saying.

The picture above is from Last years birthday dinner at a Brazilian Steak House call Sal Grosso. Last year was a milestone for Judson. If you’re good with math you already know it was his 40th birthday, if not I just told you so lie if anyone asks. Well before the fateful date we started making all sorts of plans for the event. At one point we were going to kidnap him that morning and fly to Las Vegas for the day. See as no one had won the lottery up to a few weeks before June we had to scale down the plans a bit.

Dan had already discovered that Judson really wanted to go to a Brazilian Steak House so we made reservations, sent out invites, and planned for a bit of a surprise party. We pulled it off but not quite as we planned. What we end up with was Judson headed to dinner with about 5 people and another 5 waiting for him at the restaurant, there would be about 12 of us by the end of the night.

The whole thing was still almost a bust, this is my favorite part. So Dan has Judson and a couple of people at his house (right around the corner from the restaurant) waiting for my text message that we are all set at the restaurant. I’m at the restaurant waiting for the last party to arrive before I give the go ahead, which is Rachel and her guest. Rachel was waiting for Dan to call telling they had left so she could sneak in and decorate for dinner. Do you see the loop? Dan is waiting for me, I’m waiting for Rachel, Rachel is waiting for Dan (repeat). It all worked out in the end.

BTW – the steak house was excellent, nice choice Judson. They are pricey but the experience is well worth it.
