May 24, 07:00 AM: I have a confession to make…
There are packing peanuts all over the floor of my computer room and they have been there for over a month. I’m so ashamed. Please don’t think less of me. It all started with computer errors. I have a small 25 gig hard drive in my computer and I have maxed out the space. So much so that it started getting operational errors every time I used it. So I ordered a new drive I nice big 160 gig hard drive. When the new drive arrived it was shipped in a box and packed in packing peanuts. The drive itself has a plastic carton around it which the peanuts where clinging to it like… well I don’t know but something VERY clingy! You’re probably thinking this is where the peanuts get on the floor because I must have very cavalierly opened the carton and let the peanuts fall where they may but that’s not the case! I knew that if even one peanut fell it would remain there until I moved or the house burned down or something so I very carefully removed every single clinging peanut from the carton and put it back in the shipping box. I placed the peanut free carton on my desk and moved to place the shipping box in the trash but as I turned the box slipped out of my hand. To make things even worse in my attempt to catch the box I sent it spinning, scattering packing peanuts all over the room. I guess they will be there until they invent the technology to remove fallen packing peanuts from a floor. I would have told you sooner but it just never seamed like the right time. I feel better having written this. Thank you for reading it.

This is actually from and email I sent my friend about a year ago. I thought the story was funny enough to re-use. I’m also happy to report that the packing peanuts are gone now. (mostly)
