Sep 1, 03:04 PM: Big Day
Today is Penn State’s first home game so the town is kinda nuts. It’s funny to hear people here complain about traffic and congestion due to the game compared to living in Atlanta. No really plans for today most of my friends are at the game. might go for a beer later if I get and invite if not I have plenty to do here.
My parents headed out west today for their big vacation. They are going to Glacier National Park and Yellowstone. They will be gone for 2 weeks. We were going to have dinner last night but they still had a lot to do so we postponed. They sound really excited about the trip. Hopefully they will bring me some pictures I can post for you.
Last night kicked off the Bloom Early Music Workshop. My friend Dwayne hosts this event at his home every Labor Day weekend. The BEM Workshop is featuring Lisle Kulbach & Frances Blaker.
Lisle Kulbach, Co-founder Voice of the Turtle; Bodky Award winner. Performer/teacher of Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical & Country Dance music. Founding member: Alexander’s Feast; Quadrivium School. New England Conservatory (B.M.); Voice of the Turtle, 12 recordings, Revels, 3 Recordings; Voice, Viola da gamba, Recorder, Harpsicord, Rebec, Kamanja, Harp, Shawms, Flutes, Percussion.
Frances Blaker, Music Pedagogical/Performance degrees Royal Conservatory of Music/Copenhagen. Studied w/Eva Legene & Marion Verbruggen/Netherlands. Soloist & w/various ensembles U.S., Denmark, England & the Netherlands. Dwayne invited me to help him with the catering, I have no musical talent (I can play the radio but not very well). I would have loved to have gone but the Swift Blue Ram is in the shop and I didn’t feel like walking.
