Today is the birthday of my good friend Andrew “Dr. Drew” Hritz. I can’t say enough about Drew to explain what a great friend he is. We met in 1999 at DeVry and pretty quickly became tight friends. It was he and I that originally went to play Team Trivia at Loco’s that eventually lead to us being business partners doing our own trivia shows. So many of my best memories over these years I see Drew right there beside me. Hockey games, beach trips, cars shows, parties, clubs, Holidays, you name it we’ve been there.
Some people might describe Drew as quiet and brooding but if you really get to know him you discover that he is a very passionate person with a wildly wicked sense of humor who is fiercely loyal to his friends and family. One of the things that I most admire about him is hid decisiveness, Drew doesn’t waste time agonizing of decisions he acts. Most recently I remember one night at trivia he mentioned to me that he was thinking about trading in his truck for something more fuel efficient. If I was thinking something like this through I’d talk to my parents, Drew, other friends then look at cars for a couple of weeks do web research then MAYBE actually do. Not Drew he came home the next day with a new car.
Drew is responsible and works hard and has good life to show for it. He bought his first house 2 years ago. His parent have just retired and relocated to Georgia which he has been looking forward to for several years now. He is up for a promotion at work which I’m sure he will get. And probably most importantly he has been seeing someone very special which I think above everything else he truly deserved and is bringing him true joy.
I want to wish my friend a very happy birthday and much much more!
